NJ Radioactive Incident Already Being Covered-Up

Last night, a local FOX news channel reported breaking news in which a traffic accident in New Jersey had led to the discovery of high radioactive emissions coming from a box inside one of the cars:

Note that 48 seconds into the video, the on-scene reporter's microphone picks up a voice coming from his ear-piece, instructing him to "Tell them there was no radioactivity!"

We wrote of the odd, inexplicable comment in the article below when the story broke:

HAZMAT crews were called to the scene when two cars collided, and the driver of the car in which the box had been found attempted to flee the scene. Further details as to the nature of the box, the destination of the driver, etc., never emerged.

While the mainstream media selectively ignores the story despite its cause for concern, http://www.nj.com/ already features a fictional version of the incident, now saying that a car crashed into a parked vehicle, magically popping open its trunk to reveal a box which helpfully read 'RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL.'

This last detail about the box is important to note, as it was not mentioned in last night's broadcast and immediately raised questions as to how accident-responders knew the box was emitting anything abnormal in the first place. The story has now been modified to justify those findings with a simple caption on the front of the box.

Furthermore, the article mentions nothing of the driver attempting to flee the scene, which originally raised legitimate concern over the radioactive box and reinforced suspicion.

Could this incident possibly be tied to the search-operation which unfolded in New York this past Friday night, after a threat cited radioactive materials being delivered into the city via truck? Thus far, both the mainstream media and federal officials have neglected to report the bizarre coincidence of the two occurring in such close conjunction with one another.

A similar modified story emerged last week in South Carolina when yet another traffic incident resulted in the findings of explosives and possibly one constructed bomb. Shortly after the story broke, federal officials disputed claims from local authorities that any bombs were found at all, even though the highway was closed down for ten hours to detonate the suspicious materials. (http://theworldisntflat.blogspot.com/2007/08/update-federal-officials-deny-bomb.html)

Perhaps that aside from the incidents themselves, the most distressing revelations are that the mainstream media, and federal and local officials alike, keep trying to deny the original stories and instead revise them into looking like harmless mishaps. The repetition of those revised statements, however, makes one question the validity of them.

This comes after a bomb-scare in New York prompted the mobilization of counter-terror units, originating from a threat which cited trucks delivering radioactive materials in L.A., Miami and New York. (http://theworldisntflat.blogspot.com/2007/08/terrorist-attack-should-be-considered.html) This story was also down-played by the media.

None of these stories are being promoted as thwarted terrorist attacks. What is it that the government is trying to conceal in what is already limited and non-existent reporting?
